You will see from a sketch I did on 140 lb CP Arches watercolor paper and Chinese Charcoal of a sketch of Mirror Lake in Yosemite. I took the sketch back to my studio in Elk Grove, California and put in some transparent color in the background. Then, I used Antwerp Blue for the water in the lake and used a thirsty brush with clear water to lift out color to show reflections on light on the water surface of the lake.
